GRE
To send an official score to Berkeley, list the institution code assigned by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) for Berkeley, 4833. Domestic candidates from families with extremely low incomes may qualify for a waiver of GRE test fees. Consult your undergraduate financial aid office to determine whether your institution participates in the GRE Fee Waiver Program and whether you qualify.

The Statement of Purpose is a short essay that is used to assess the knowledge, experience, motivation, intellectual maturity, and readiness of applicants to pursue graduate education at Berkeley. Applicants should limit this statement to a maximum of 2 pages (single or double spaced), and it should include the following:Why you are interested in pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering;What area of nuclear engineering interests you the most (include names of one or two faculty whose research you are interested in);Any previous research and academic experience that prepared/is preparing you to undertake this research;Your graduate school and career goals;How Berkeley in general and Nuclear Engineering in particular are going to help you achieve those goals;What aspects you bring to the department.
Fee
Only applicants who complete the required sections of the online application will be considered for admission into the program. You must submit a non-refundable application fee when you apply. If you are a U.S. citizen or current permanent resident, the application fee is $90; for all others, the fee is $110.

Academic records should be issued in the original language and accompanied by English translations if required (usually prepared by your university or government agency, unless the institution issues original documents in English). Specially prepared English versions are not acceptable in lieu of the records in the original language.
