TOEFL
We will only accept TOEFL tests administered by the Educational Testing Service and sent to us directly by the TOEFL office. Tests taken before June 2015 will not be accepted, even if your score was reported to Berkeley. The institution code for Berkeley is 4833. You may submit a photocopy of the Examinee’s Score Report for review purposes only, but this is not a substitute for an official score report.
For purposes of admission, your most recent score must be at least 90 for the Internet-based test (iBT). Students wishing to be appointed as teaching assistants in their first year should have a score of 26 on the speaking section of the iBT.
GRE
We require both the General GRE and the Mathematics Subject GRE exams. You should take both tests no later than October. The Educational Testing Service will send your scores to the institutions you specify when you take the exams. Our departmental code is 0703. Additional information about the GRE exams, and how to register, can be obtained on the web at http://www.GRE.org.

A satisfactory scholastic average, usually a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale
Fee
You must submit an application fee when you apply. The application fee is not re-fundable. If you are a U.S. citizen or current permanent resident, the application fee is $105; for all others, the fee is $125.
RL
We require three letters of recommendation, which should be submitted online. We do not accept mailed letters of recommendation.
Letters should be recived online by December 9, 2017.
Transcript
Upload unofficial transcripts with the application for the departmental initial review. Official transcripts or academic records for all university-level studies you have completed, at U.S. institutions and abroad will be required if admitted. If your academic records do not include official evidence of the award of your degree, you must also submit additional documents that verify the degree conferral.
