PS Applicants should devote careful attention to the Statement of Purpose, which is a very important part of the application. It should reflect the applicant’s best thinking about an area of specialization within city planning. The statement should outline a proposed area of specialization, including an appropriate theoretical foundation, suitable scholarly research skills, and potential topics for dissertation research. GPA The applicant’s overall academic record should be strong with a grade-point average of B (3.0 on a 4-point scale) or better. CV The resume/CV is required. Fee Pay application fee of $85. Applicants can pay by credit card online, or send check/money order made payable to the University of North Carolina (application will be processed upon receipt of payment). RL Three letters of reference are required. Transcript Upload one unofficial transcript from each university attended. Transcripts must be uploaded with the online application. Please do not mail transcripts, as this will significantly delay the processing of your application. For applicants who are offered admission, one paper official transcript for each university attended will be required at a later date.
