The Graduate School requires a minimum of 80 on the TOEFL.

Students must score at the 50th percentile or above on the MAT [388] or GRE to be considered for the doctoral program. Students must also submit an admissions portfolio prior to program admission.

Essay Describing Reasons for Pursuing a Doctoral Degree: Include a brief essay describing.your motivation for pursuing a doctoral degree in leadership. The essay should be no more than two pages, double spaced, in Times New Roman 12-point font.
GPA
Minimum GPA: A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
CV
Professional Resume is required.Essay Highlighting Leadership Experiences: This document will enhance and expand upon
your resume by listing key leadership experiences that may be either personal or professional, but
that involved you acting as a leader within the organization. Please provide a brief list and short
(1-2 sentence) description of each role.
Fee
Application fees are $45 for domestic students and $60 for international students.
RL
Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation to be provided by professional
references. One of these letters must be from your current supervisor. Each letter must be
included in the portfolio in hard copy (i.e., electronic references submitted online for the UAB
Graduate School will not substitute for this requirement).
Transcript
Request transcripts from all prior institutions to be sent to UAB including institutions where you might have taken only one course (information on how to do this is provided in Apply Yourself). The preferred email addresses for electronic submission of transcripts are as follows: SOEtranscripts@uab.edu and gradschool@uab.edu. If you have international transcripts, you should send a copy and then bring the original transcript with you.
