The student shall be responsible for forming a thesis or dissertation guidance committee which shall consist of the student's academic advisor and additional faculty members recommended by the advisor. For an M.S. program (Plan A and Plan B), the minimum number of additional faculty members on the thesis guidance committee is two, and at least two members of the committee must be within the EECS department. The chairperson of the guidance committee is normally the candidate's research advisor.
